I love Marv! This was such a fun, imaginative romp through another world, and I think you did a phenomenal job with your descriptions and imagery. My favorite was the trees like the stiff peaks of whipped cream. 😊 The world was wholly unfamiliar, but I felt like I was there, experiencing it for the first time with Brianna!
What a beautifully crafted new pixar movie to be had. This is wonderful Alice, it's so charming and cozy. After Eric's dark story, this was exactly the refreshment I needed. The feeling of a world only limited to imagination, this one is filled with child like wonders, I love it.
You are great at telling stories like these. I might have to check your publication more often. Thank you for sharing this.
I think my favorite kind of fiction is "children's fiction, which is still fun for adults". The Hobbit, Roald Dahls works, some of Diana Wynne Jones work - anything that strikes the chord of childhood whimysy.
This struck the chord. Great tale, and an especially masterful job of taking the original story and building a world out of it.
I only wish we could have spent more time in Marv's world. A good thing, I suppose: "leave them wanting more."
I know I keep using the word "delightful" to describe your stories, but I just can't find a better one. I'm so glad that there are people like you writing stories like these. I want my own little Marv to live under my bed. I'd buy pink socks just to feed to him every night.
WE'RE PRO MARV IN THIS HOUSE! Wonderful expansion Alice, well done! This is officially received (i'm behind!)
AWWWW that's the sweetest!
Alice, I remember loving your first 250-word story, and this is even better! With only 2000 words, it seems you made everyone love Marv, including me.

You've created characters and a world that can grow together. What adventures await Brianna and Marv down all those other portals?
And what a quest it was! Brianna's determination to find her friend again makes for such a good tale.

Thank you so much - that is always what I am trying to go for!
Simply a lovely tale! Marv is quite cute, and your descriptions have done him justice!

I'll take "delightful!" I think I'd buy some pink socks for Marv, too.
Aw, such a lovely story 🤗 the monster world reminded me so much of Wonderland.
Thank you! I had so much fun with this world building
